Tumblr Tuesday, Fashion Week EditionNew York City, September 9-16, 2010
Fashionistas in extremely dangerous high heels are literally tripping all over the city as New York Fashion Week currently hits its, uh, stride. This glorious event happens twice every year and brings the world’s finest and most cutting-edge designers together to display their latest creations. What follows are some Tumblr blogs celebrating the haute couture, the prêt-à-porter, and the falling models.
Fashion Week Live from MAC & Milk invites everyone to participate in this live cell phone project called “Phone Tag” to promote all of the week’s events.
Sara Zucker is an independent fashion blogger who works in marketing and is covering Fashion Week from inside the shows.
What I Wore is Jessica Quirk’s personal style blog. She takes pictures of herself nearly every day and loves vintage inspired clothes.
DesignerSocial is a crew of designers, editors, and fashion peeps who throw down on the industry and each other.
LB TUMBLR is the official Tumblr blog for Lookbook.nu, an international social experiment in style.

Name Mike Mitchell’s Tumblr of Amazing ThingsLocation Los AngelesFirst post August 2009
Freelance illustrator Mike Mitchell is perhaps best known for his “I’m with Coco” poster, but it’s his take on the universal “Viking riding a unicorn in space with lightning-emitting AK-47” concept that truly resonates with us. With a focus on pop culture and the utterly ridiculous, Mike posts his original works, the works of his friends and influences, and the things that make him laugh. He blew up the internet last week after receiving a thank-you note from comedian Zach Galifianakis for creating a splendid portrait. Mike lives in LA with his wife, Lauren, and various pets named Auggie, Belly, Emo, and Peeka.

Ian Andersen always liked comics, but it wasn’t until he found James Kochalka’s American Elf that he started making his own. “The idea of just doing a strip a day about my own life really blew me away,” he says. Like many other cartoonists before him, he discovered that this daily routine pushed him to improve his ability in both drawing and writing. Ian has posted a daily comic for two years now, attends college, and drinks lots of coffee.

If your house was burning, what would you take with you? The answer says a lot about your values and background, according to photographer Foster R. Huntington. The Burning House is a living gallery of photographs of the items chosen by people from all backgrounds, from all around the world. “It’s a philosophical conflict between what’s practical, valuable, and sentimental. You’re forced to prioritize and boil down a life of accrued possessions into what you can carry out with you,” Foster says.
